Branches
We currently have active branches in the following locations:
Montreal, Canada
AIC Canada is run by Rebecca Ronsley (Director of Internal Affairs) and Samantha Kumar (Director of External Affairs). Our Montreal-based branch is currently run by McGill students, Soha Shah (Co-President and VP Grants), Niharika Singh (Co-President and VP-Finance), Suman Rao (VP Events), Sonia Rasquinha (Co-VP Events), Nicole Ebert (VP Administration and Communications), Murtaza Shambhoora (Co-VP Admin and Comm) and Samantha Wala (Co-VP Finance) along with the immense amount of help from committed AIC members and enthusiastic supporters at McGill.
The McGill Branch focuses its efforts on organizing fundraising and awareness events on campus such as a bi-annual Benefit Dinner at a local Indian restaurant, movie nights, and benefit concerts. In the process of attaining official charity status in Canada in the upcoming year, AIC McGill hopes to expand further into the Montreal community. The Vancouver branch is enthusiastically run by high school students Claire Ronsley and Vanessa Lee with the help of several committed students in the Vancouver area. This branch focusses on fundraising for AIC's outreach program and on education events related to street children.
Tokyo, Japan
Students from all around Tokyo gather regularly to discuss ideas and organize events for AIC. The branch is led by Takashi Kaneda (President), Mami Okado (Vice President), Toshihiro Kobayashi (Secretary), along with Marina Ogawa, Hiroki Yamashita, Saki Nishimuta, and Taro Ueda.
London, U.K.
The UK branch is managed by Kaminika Morjaria, Sheena Modi, Mitul Ganatra, Rupa Ganatra, Rosie Spooner and David Mervyn Jones. The Branch focuses their efforts on supporting the home in Pune by fundraising and spreading awareness of the pilot. AIC UK's aim is to ensure the home's work can continue and expand.
Rohrbach, Austria
Julia Neubauer (our CFO and current on-site director in Pune) runs the Austria branch single-handedly, based primarily in her hometown of Rohrbach, Austria. Through frequent trips to Austria, regular donor letters and lots of publicity, Julia manages to rally a great deal of much-appreciated support within her home community.
Ithaca, U.S.A
Our U.S. branch is run out of Ithaca, New York, under the leadership of our secretary Katherine Sholtys and current AIC USA directors Elizabeth Sholtys and Julia Neubauer. Members of the branch focus their efforts on fundraising and spend a large amount of time planning the annual AIC Holiday Campaign (available every December). Directors of AIC USA regularly attend fundraising events and give presentations about the issue of street children in India, mainly to gain support and raise awareness (if you are interested in having an AIC representative speak at your event, please contact us). In addition to fundraising, members of AIC USA are also responsible for administrative tasks, volunteer recruitment/selection and donor relations.
Pune, India
Our official branch in Pune works on fundraising, publicity, collaborating with other local NGOs and social workers, arranging for material donations, and raising public awareness. We also maintain relationships with local companies who sponsor us or provide free services (e.g. computer literacy programs, vocational training) for the children and adults in our programs. The branch is managed by the current Home Director(s).
